INSPECTION OF NAVY TO-DAY.

PUKEKOHE VISIT TO-MORROW.

The Governor-General, Sir Charles Fergusson, was fully occupied by public engagements yesterday. The first was at 9.30 a.m., when he attended the Maori ceremony at the War Memorial Museum. At mid-day he and Lady Alice I.ergusson received a deputation from the Auckland Presbytery. Sir Charles was the guest of the Rotary Club ai luncheon and gave an address. Later in the afternoon he paid a farewell visit to King s College.

His Excellency's only engagement for to-day is a visit to the warships in port and inspection of the ships' companies. At 2.30 p.m. to-morrow His Excellency will unveil two memorials at the Puke* kohs East Presbyterian Church, one being to the Europeans and the other to the natives who fell jluring the engagement there on September 14, 1863.
