. A ; dvice that Dr. David . Nathan Eppgtein, ,a former Aucklander, son of Mrs. J... Zimmeiy ofFairview Road,/.Mount Eden, lias qualified . for his F.RiC.S. degre.e,,. has,'been received in Auckland. Dr. ; Eppstein is only 25 years old., Ho was born in Wellington, and was educated at the Auckland Grammar School, whore ..ho .won. junior, and senior, scholarships. In 1919 ho obtained a university scholarship, and the following year went to the- medical school' at', the Otogo University. lie graduated M.8., 0h.8,, when,.he- was only 21 years, old, tjiking, a prize for distinction in. medicine. Dr.. Eppstoin then spent', a /year attached to. the Christchurcji' Hospital before going" to England, wheire ho gained further experience in H'.M.S. 'Queen Mary and in the Middlesex Hospital. At tho latter hospital he 100k t his preliminaries. for the, F.R.C.S/ degree, and was to' have sat for the ,/ final examination.' However,) his ; age'> ,24 years, debarced him, as he found that it was necessary to attain the age of 25 before finishing. He is now at Guy's Hospital, London, where he intends to remain for further experience before returning to New Zealand.
