GIFT TO THAMES BOROUGH.

At a meeting of (he Thames. Borough Council last evening a letter was received from the solicitors in the "state of the late Mrs. Isabella Weir, stating that Mrs. Weir had bequeathed to the borough the Darling Cup, which had been won by her husband for rifle-shooting. The cup was a handsome one, standing 19|in. high. The will also directed the trustees to purchase a suitable case for protection of the cup.
Tho Mayor, Mr. Bongard, said that rather than have tho cup put away for show it could be competed for each year by members of the local rifle club. The matter was left/in his bands to deal with.
