THE LUSTRE OF PEARLS.
Pearls should be attended to once every three months. If they are frequently worn, they should be re-strung quite as often, otherwise dirt will collect in the holes and spoil their appearance. The best way to brighten their lustre is to leave them in some dry powdered magnesia, for a day or two. The powder should then bo shaken out and the pearls polished gently with tissue paper. It is never wjge to let them come in contact with water. As long as they are kept clean, the more they arc worn, the better they will look.
