HOUSEWORK AND YOUR LOOKS
Now that the average young housewife has to do tho greater part of her own work in the home, there is a battle royal raging between good looks and hard work !
Tho hands and face seem to suffer most; the hands from doing dirty jobs, and tho face from cooking—though feet sometimes get their share of trouble, too! It is an excellent plan to keep a few domestic beauty aids ready for use in the kitchen, such as some cut lemon and a bottle of vinegar. When the job (hat stains is clone, rub lemon or vinogar well into the hands, then wash off, and idry very carefully. It is tho work of but a minute or two, and tho benefit is well worth the little trouble.
Never put the hands into strong soda water. Tho best plan is to keep- soda solution in a large boitle, and just pour out as wanted; there is much less risk of using too much. To protect the . face use a simple hand cream, and apply a Utile after using tho vinegar or lemon, should it bo necessary to uso either of these every day. Few things are worse for the skin than steam and hot air.
