ACCOUNTANTS' SOCIETY.
AUDIT OF TRI)ST ACCOUNTS. MEETING OF EXECUTIVE. A meeting of the executive aud investigation committee of the New Zealand Society of Accountants was held -e----cently in Wellington. The committee dealt with a complaint lodged against a member of the society, alleging acts discreditable to an accountant. The member having been found guilty, it was resolved to exclude him from membership. It was reported that tho society had been in communication with tho Government concerning proposed amendments to tho Companies Act, and had been advised that efforts would be made to set up a committee with representatives from the Law Society and tho Society of Accountants to report to tho Government on tho proposed amendments to tho Act. The committee also decided to urge again up on the Attor-ney-General tho necessity of making amendments to the regulations governing tho audit of solicitors' trust accounts. Tho resignation of Mr. T. Antou as a member of tho council, in view of his transfer to Christchureh, was received with regret.
