The president. Mr. P. .Bevendge, in his opening remarks, emphasised tho fact that although isolated, the Coromandel Club was definitely recognised as an important 0110. Mrs. Boveridgo threw up the kitty fflnd dolivered tho first bowl. Tho grounds wero decorated with a plentiful 6upply of bunting, kindly lop,ned bv the honorary secretary. 'Mr. F. P. Burgess. Refreshments wero dispensed bv jfrs. Bevoridgo and a croup of lad.v assistants, Tho Coromandel Brass Band was present and played selections. Tho president then performed tho ceremony o£ formally opening tho adioining crociuot latons for the season. ' r ' Teams representing tho president and onstprcsident then engaged in play.
