Accused stated that she thought the owner was not returning, and that the goods had been left. Chief-Detective Hammond remarked that the accused, as wife of the caretaker of the building, should have been careful about property lying in rooms in the building, although there was no question that the tenant had been indifferent about her business. Accused was convicted and ordered'to come up for sentence if called on within six months, an order being made for the re,turn of the goods. The magistrate, Mr. F. K.
