BICARBONATE OF SODA.

In times of emergency bicarbonate of soda can come to your aid in many and varied ways. . If your feet are tender, bathe them night and morning with solution—one tablespoonful of bicarbonate of soda dissolved in half a pint of water. A little dampened and put on a sting will relieve the pain wonderfully, while it is also excellent for a burn or scald. Bathe the afflicted part wth olive oil, j then put the soda on top of this. Bicarbonate of soda has other uses, | however. A pinch will keep milk fresh during hot weather, and when beating eggs, a little added improves the colour and makes them froth more easily. A paste of bicarbonate of soda and cold water removes perspiration marks from whito silk very effectively, while cut flowers will last very much longer if you add a pinch to the water. <rr^o<==>o<- , -r>o'<==>a<-—>o< —>»<=:
