ZURICH TO LONDON.
SWISS CYCLISTS TRIP. LEFT HAND RULE MUDDLE. Stefan Eort, a young Swiss, cycled into London recently after starting from Zurich seven days previously, covering 600 miles during that time. He was delighted with the last lap of the journey for he found to his amazement that, the English roads wera incomparably better than the German, Dutch, or Belgian roads. "Oh! I was pleasantly surprised, he said in Belgium the roads have big holes that nearly knock you off, and in Holland tbere are plenty of little tiny stones which puncture your tyres. " On this long journey I must say that Enclish people were nice to me. You see I am quite poor. " I have longed to come to London, and I had just saved up exactly enough to do the journey but, of course, I had nothing to spare. " Well, when I started from Switzerland, on my second day I met an English cyclist. He asked me where I was staying for the night, and I told him I must stay at some hi tie place that is not expensive. He laughed and told me to stay with him in his tent and save the night's lodging. " Then, when I got to Dover I started to cycle on the right side of the road and found myself running into everything, cars, lorries, bicycles and everything. " A very intelligent man came over to me when some people were shouting at me and explained that in England you travel on the left, of the road. He was a sensible fellow."
