SHOCK GIVES SPEECH.
DUMB FOR ELEVEN YEARS. An ex-service man, James Richardson, of East England, had h.s speech restored to him recently in »- remarkable manner at Durham, In order to avoid a ( motor-cycle ho came in contact with tha parapet of a : bridge and remarked: " That was a nigh 'un. ' He had not spoken for eleven years. Richardson served with the Royal Naval Division at Arras, and his infirmity was caused by a shell bursting near him. Ho is overjoyed at the'recovery of his speech, and one of hi* first acts was to £ing his favourite ditties. ' -r"
