A most successful children s party, given cnder the auspices of the Radio Dealers Association, and organised by 1\ A, headed bv Mr. L. Barnes, was held in the cbncert chamber yesterday afternoon and was greatly enjoyed by a large number children. Competitions, games, children's, community singing, and a Punch and Judy show were among the attractions provided,- and the distribution of sweets, biscuits and ice creams added to

A birthday party of interest to many ©ld Thames people was held in the Regent Tearooms yesterday afternoon when Mrs. E. A." Towers, an early pioneer of Thames, attained her 84th birthday. The party'.was given by Mrs. Towers' daughters and .many of her friends were present to congratulate her. The tables had been attractively decorated with bowls of roses and daffodils and a posy of flowers was placed before each guest. Inclyided among those present were three of Mrs. Towers' friends, all aged over 80—Mrs. Annie Smith, Mrs. Newby and Mrs. Farquhar. Other guests were: Mrs. Alfred Oldham.
