WEEK-END WEATHER.

HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST. The following weather forecast for 48 hours from 7 a.m. to-day, was supplied to us by Mr. H. M. Vincent last evening:— The recent depression is passing eastward, and the high barometric pressure system, enclosing an area of fine weather, is moving on to tho Dominion from the west. A few clearing showers are indicated, chiefly in East Const districts, followed by fair to fine weather generally, although with cold night temperatures, and frosts inland, especially in the South Island. Southerly to south easterly winds, strong to gale, decreasing shortly, and giving placo to variable and moderate breezes. Rough seas southward of Capo Egmont, and in Cook Strait, and increasing botween Gisborno and Napier; mainly moderate elsewhere. Tho general outlook favours fine weather prevailing for several days. The Government meteorologist reported last evening as follows: —A depression still covers tho North Island, but is moving eastwards slowly. A moderate anticyclone covers tho western Tasman Sea. Indications are for winds northerly at first in tlie central and eastern portions of tho North Island, but south-west to south-east winds shortly becoming general, and moderate to strong in force. Seas moderate to rather rough generally. Strong southerly winds and rather rough seas in die eastern Tasman Sea. Weather still unsettled over the North Island and parts of Marlborough, with further rain, but improving gradually. Mainly failelsewhere, but with some scattered coastal showers. Cold temperatures.
