INTOXICATED DRIVER.
YOUNG MAORI IN COURT. CANCELLATION OF LICENCE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] NEW PLYMOUTH. Friday. A young Maori, J. Patu, pleaded guilty at Waitara to-day to charges of being intoxicated while drivjng a motorcar, and driving on the main North Road in a dangerous manner. The magistrate, Mr. R. W. Tate, admitted accused to probation for two years, cancelled bis driving licence for two years and ordered him to take out a prohibition order each year during his term of probation. Accused was also ordered to pay costs amounting to £3 2s.
