SUMMER HATS.
Sir, —The Takapuna Grammar School is to bo congratulated on leading the way in the adoption of 3traw hats for the pupils during summer months. 1 always wondered how the boys could settle down to lessons after playing and drilling in the broiling sun with skull caps as the only protection for their heads. The hats worn by the boys in the picture that appeared in last Friday's Herald look quite as smart as the small regulation cap, and certainly more sensible. Interested.
