DISABLED EX-SOLDIERS.
INQUIRY BY COMMISSION. FIRST SITTING THIS WEEK. [by telegraph.—special iu:ronTF.n.] WELLINGTON. Monday. The commission which is to investigate the position of physically and economically incapacitated returned soldiers will open its inquiry in Duncdin on Friday. It is proposed to sit in the four main centres and Auckland will probably be tho last city visited. Tho chairman, Mr. J. S. Barton, P.M., said to-day that tho commission would bo guided in its arrangements and programmo largely by tho amount of evidcnco forthcoming. Various organisations interested in tho commission's work had already made good progress to facilitate taking of evidence. Tho commission is to report by February 10.
