FAREWELL" TO LEADERS, The Salvation Army Congress Hall'was crowded Inst evening, when a farewell gathering to Commissioner J. Hay and j Mrs. Hay, who have been in chargo of tho Army in Now Zealand, was held, j Commissioner and Mrs. Hay will leavo by the Niagara to-day en route to Toronto, wheer they will tako over tho Canada Eastern command. 'lheir daughter, Staff- j Captpin Esther Hay, will accompany her j parents and will also tako up a position in Canada, •• • • •] Colonel L. Taylor, chief secretary for New Zealand, presided, -and a large number Of > local and visiting ofi'tcers wero present. Several speakers referred to the good, work accomplished by tho commissioner and Mrs. Hay in New Zealand, and, tho best wishes of tho Army. membors word conveyed to them.' Mention was also inado of tho part played by Staff- 1 Captain Hay in Army affairs. Trior to the gathering between 400 and 500 oflicers and members marched along Queen Street, to. the hall*. '
