AUTHORITY OF BIBLE.
OUTBURST BY CHURCHMAN.
SURPRISE AT CONFERENCE. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received October 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON. Oct 19. In the course of a discussion on the place of the Bible in Christian life at tho Worcester Diocesan Conf-erence Canon T. A. Lacey rose up and said it was utterly impossible for him to keep silence.
It was impossible for him to regard the Bible as one book, and impossible for him to speak of the Bible as the Word of God. There was nothing in the Old or the New Testament to suggest why it should be so called.
He found in the Bible a broken record of men blindly seeking after God. Ho could not find anything else in it.
