REMUERA BOWLING CLUB.
OFFICIAL OPENING. Tho oponing of tho Rcmuwa Bowling Club, which took placo on Saturday afternoon in tho presence of a large gathering of members, their wives and friends, was attonded by brilliantly sunny weather, which considerably enhanced tho beauty of tho smooth green lawns and surrounding flower bods. After a welcome had been extended to tho visitors by tho president, Mr. E. E. Daniels, Mrs. Daniels throw the jack and sent up tho first bowl. Tho greens wero then declared open for tho season and play by the members was commenced. Tho Croquet Club was also opened, the president, Mrs. 11. B. Burnett, playing tho first ball through the hoop. Vieing with tho brilliant display of colour in tho flower beds were tho linos of gay flags, which wero strung across tho lawn, and an cffectivo feature of the decorations also was the word "Welcome" hung in front of the pavilion. Delightful music supplied by O'Halloran's orchestra also added to the pleasuro of tho occasion. Aftornoon tea was served in tho pavilion, thoso assisting being;— miss M. Tong, Miss McCoy, Miss Burnett, Miss A. Brook, 'Miss J. Robertson, Miss S. Thornes, Miss Lois Mahon, Miss C. Brook, Miss Stuart, Miss Tancred, Miss J. Adams, Miss Norton, Miss Stowart, Miss 11. Brook and Miss Hammer.
