Offside play by Marist saw Wearing kick a fine goal. • The visitors' forwards gave a great display and the O'Connor brothers rushed play to Marist territory, where Quinlivan made a brilliant opening and passed to F. O'Connor. Several backs handled in turn and Eggen raced over to score a fine try. Wearing failed to convert. Batchelor again resorted to kicking and Dennett started a passing bout which was checked by Gregory. The visitors threw the bau around in bewildering fashion, and on each occasion were dangerous.
