EAST COAST ROADS.
A STEADY IMPROVEMENT.
[RY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] OPOTIKI, Sunday.
The motor journey round the cast coast from Opotiki to Gisborno, which has always been a formidable undertaking owing to the lack of roads and the presence of so many rivers that need fording, is getting easier every month. It is expected that by Christmas motor-cars will be able to travel from Opotiki to Fairweather's, which is several miles beyondTo Kaha, and only 20 miles from the boundary of tho Opotiki County. Already a good portion of the 20 miles is roaded, and it is confidently expected that by the end of next year motors will be able to do the trip right round from Opotiki to Gisborno, returning via Motu.
