PRODUCTS OF EMPIRE.
SHOW WEEK AT HULL.
NUMEROUS BUYERS ATTRACTED
Australian and N.Z. l'rcse Association. LONDON, Oct. 11
Perhaps no town or city in the United Kingdom is a more enthusiastic supporter of the ideal of Empire trade than Hull. There all the resources of the municipality and business people have been thrown into a Civic Week in which the resources of the Empire are featured everywhere. On the invitation of the London and North-Eastern Railway Company journalists visited tho city, which was beflagged. Every shop window was devoted to a display of ?]mpire products. Tho Guildhall was converted into an Empire show window whom every conceivable product of the Dominions and colonies could be purchased. Since the opening of the display throngs of people have clustered round the stalls and heavy purchases have been made. Indeed a hall three times tho size would be needed to accommodate tho crowds.
The municipal authorities covered the cost of tho organisation for tho first day. This suggests that Hull's example might be followed profitably by other centres. Railway officials escorted tho journalists to tho docks to inspect tho remarkably improved facilities there for tho handling of Australian wool, wheat and fruit.
