SECONDARY CHAMPIONSHIPS.
ANNUAL MEETING AT DOMAIN
CLOSE SENIOR COMPETITION.
The annual athletic championships of the Auckland Secondary Schools woro hold in the Domain on Saturday after.noon in fine weather. Tho tracks were in splendid order and fast times were registered in tho majority of the events Tho senior championship provided a close and exciting finish between King's Collogo and Auckland Grammar School, the result being in doubt until tho final event of tho day, tho relay race of a mile, had been decided. Tho success of King's College in this event gave it tho championship for tho second year in succession.
Auckland Grammar School had a runaway victory in the junior championship, winning every event but two, in which its representatives wero second and third. It was a very fine performance. The times and distances in several cases in both tho senior and junior championships wero an improvement upon those of last year when the first meeting was held. The following schools took part in the sports:—Auckland Grammar School, King's College, Mount Albert Grammar School, Sacred Heart College, Seddon Memorial Technical College, Takapuna (grammar School, St. Stephen's School. There was a large attendance of the public and friends and supporters of the various schools. The boys' band from tho Jubilee Institute for the Blind played musical selections during the afternoon and these wero greatly enjoyed. A descriptive fantasia, a hunting scene, was a particularly popular number and was repeated by request. Following are tho results of the various events:—

SCHOOL STEEPLECHASE.
RESULT AT CAMBRIDGE. [BY TELEGRAPH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT.] CAMBRIDGE. Sunday. The pupils of tho Cambridge District High School held their annual steeplechase yesterday over a 3-milo course, with sealed handicaps. Following was tho result:—Peter Jarvis, 1; L. Parker, 2; H. Wallis, 3. The fastest time was mado by J. Hamer, who covered tho distance in 20m 10s.
