TAKAPUNA AFFAIRS.

PROPOSED SHELTER-SHED.

The monthly meeting of the Takapuna Western Ratepayers and Residents' Association was held last week, the president, Mrs. J. C. Blomfield, presiding.

It was stated that a cheque for £5 had been received from "Bishop Clcary and Archdeacon Hoi brook as a donation toward tho proposed shelter-shed at the corner of Taharoto Road and Killarney Street. Both tho Borough Council and tho local transport company had promisee! one-third of the cost each, if the raised tho remainder.

Tho proposed floral fete was discussed, but tho opinion was expressed that it would have to be run more economically than tho one held last year, otherwise) the idea would have to be abandoned.

A leiter was received from the Borough Council stating that the name Parklands had been approved, thus eliminating tho term "back of the lake," often applied to a portion of the borough.
