NEW TUAKAU BRIDGE.
REPLACING OLD STRUCTURE.
[BY TELEGIUrH. —OWN CORRESPONDENT. J TUAKAU, Saturday. Tho proposal for tlio erection of a new bridgo in permanent material across tho Waikato River at Tuakau to replace the present wooden structure was taken up by tho Raglan County Council at its monthly meeting this week, tho county engineer, Mr. lv. M. Wright, being asked to preparo a report for tho next meeting of tho council, on tho relativo costs of constructing a new bridge in suitable material just, on tho up-stream sido of the present bridge and widening tho approach along tho riverbank on the Tuakau aide, or constructing a new bridge at tho Tuakau landing sito and forming a now upproach road for the Onewhero district. Discussing tho matter to-dny Mr. P. G. R. Taylor, Onewhero Riding member of th« council, stated that when tho estimates wore to hand tho council could be guided as to which sito to adopt. The Highways Board would, it was c.vpcqtod, find two-thirds of the cost, This was in accordance with the board's other subsidies on such works on main highways.
