EPISCOPAL CHURCH.
REVISED PRAYER BOOK.
CHANGES IN AMERICA.
United Service. NEW YORK, Oct. 10. Tho new Prayer Book of the Protestant Episcopal Church—revised for the first timo since 1892—is to be published shortly. Tho changes in the marriage service have been discussed for a long time. They include the omission of tho woman's promise to obey her husband. The man in giving tho ring will no longer say: "With all my worldly goods I thee endow." Many, changes have been made in the Eervice for the visitation of tho sick. The phrases linking a patient's illness with God's wrath are absent.
