THRONE AGAIN VACANT.

AFGHANS" REBEL KING.

FUGITIVE FROM CAPITAL.

TREASURY'S WEALTH TAKEN.

FEELING FAVOURS AMANULLA,

Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received October 11, 9.5 p.m.) DELHI. Oct. 11. It is reported that Bacha-i-Sakao, tno self-proclaimed rebel King of Arghanistan, has fled to the Russian frontier, and that the majority of his officers were taken prisoner in the dramatic capture of Kabul. The treasury at the capital was cleared of its wealth by Bach a before his flight. There is evidence in Afghanistan and in tho frontier towns of a strongor feeling in favour of the return of tho exKing, Amanulla. Prince Hayatulla Khan and Prince Abdul Majidjan, Amanulla's brothers, who were reported to have been executed by Bacha, were found alive in Kabul.

Amanulla abdicated the throne of Afghanistan on January 14 last in view of the military successes of the rebels who had been inspired to rovolt because of their opposition to the reforms Amanulla had sought to introduce. His elder brother, Inayatulla, occupied .the throne in his stead, but the leader of the rebels, Bacha-i-Sakao, went on fighting. His force attacked Kabul and surrounded the palace, compelling Inayatulla to abdicate after a reign of three days. Bacha-i-Sakao then usurped the throno. An effort to regain the rule over the country was made by Amanulla, but the forces he managed to raise were defeated by those of Bachp, and finally he loft the conntry and went into voluntary exile at Rome, where he is now residing. The war against Bacha, however, has boen carried on by General Nadir Khan, formerly Afghan Minister in Paris, and his brother, General Shah Wali Kban. The latter defeated the forces of the rebel King a few days ago and recaptured Kabul.
