USING IT UP.
Ashes.—Use dry (after sifting through & fine strainer) "for cleaning irons and removing stains from crockery. Moisten. with a little paraffin or turpentine and use' for scouring steel, brass, or zinc. Pieces ol old Carpet.—Use as stairpads, backing thin slip-mats, or as kneeling pads, or cover for worn-out knife boards. Old Gloves. —Use for interlining iron and kettlo holders, or wear while doing household duties which soil tho hands. ! Old Woollen Stockings—Use stocking •feet, slipped 011 tho hands, with a pad in tho palms, for polishing floors, etc. For tho samo purpose pad an old broomhead with any old pieces of material, Ithen cover with a split-open stocking and fasten down securely with tin tacks., 1 Candle Ends.—Melt them with turpentine and use for polishing floors.
