THE FUN OF BEING SEVENTY.

No pretending, ever for mc, that I feel 20 at 40. I shall bo 40 and enjoy the mature fruits of my age. After aLI (writes a girl who doesn't dread oid age), I shall on!v look 39. I shall; keep fit, keep my figure and my interests, and look forward to everything. Above all, I shall try to keep my s«nj© of proportion and look forward to my old age instead of dreading it. What rapture to admit to 70! To let things go for u bit, and rest on one's oars. I am going to bo a dear old ladv—nobody walking behind me will wonaer, is sho young? They'll know I'm not. My clothes will bo becoming, but most comfortablo and suitable. No bare arms —lovely shawls of soft cashmere to snugglo into. Comfortable shoes and whito hair suiting well my still powdered noso. No walks of ten miles in an east wind or a drizzle to keep my weight down! I shall toast my toos over the fire with one of the newest books in my hand. I shall dare once more to take crumpets nfc tea (I love the figure-spreading crumpet). I shall refuso to go out with people who boro me. "At my age!" I shall cry, with positive unction. I shall take the best seat, let myself be helped and my parcels carried. I only fear that in my vanity I shall pretend to bo a centenarian too soon!
