TO-DAY'S WEATHER.
HERALD'S SPECIAL FORECAST
Tho following weather forecast for 24 hours from 7 a.m. to-day was supplied to us by Mr. 11. M. Vincent last evening:— A cyclone, at present centred on tho south-west Tasman Sea, is moving eastward toward New Zealand. Fair to fino weather is indicated temporarily, conditions shortly becoming cloudy to overcast, with rain following over most of tho Dominion. Northerly to north-easterly winds, moderate to strong, prevailing and freshening. Seas moderate, with an increasing tendency on tho east coast shortly. Cold night temperatures, but becoming milder. A general decrease in barometric pressure is expected.

GOVERNMENT REPORT.
Tho Government meteorologist roported last evening as follows: —An anti-cvclone still covers New Zealand. A depression which has a cyclonic centre in its northern position is advancing slowly across (hp Tasman. Tho cyclone off the east coast yesterday has passed away eastward. Indications are for east to north winds, light to moderate at first but freshening, especially in tlio north. Seas smooth to moderate generally. Northerly winds becoming strong in tho eastern Tasman, seas becoming rough. Weather fine except for some scattered showers at first in tho Gisborne and East Capo districts; later clouds and haze increasing generally and conditions gradually becoming unsettled in northern and western districts. Cold night tomperatures with somo frost but milder to-morrow.
