KING BRUCE RELICS.
TRUSTEES' GIFT TO ABBEY.
Subject to tho fulfilment of cettain conditions, tho trustees of Professor Noel Paton, recently agreed to hand over the following relics of Robert Bruce, to tho kirk-session of Dunfermline Abbey:—
1. A portion of tho skeleton of King Robert the Bruco, narnelv, tho metatarsal or bone of tho great tfoe. 2. A small portion of tho outer leaden shroud of King Robert tho Urucc. 3. A small portion of toile d'or, in which tho body of King Robert tho Bruce was wrapped, 4. The remains of one of the iron nails which wero found among the remains of tho coffin in which the body reposed. 5. Tho remains of ono of the six iron rings, or rather handles, which had been filled in with lead into tho largest of two stones protecting the vault of Tho Bruce when first discovered on February 17, 1818. 6. Twelve fragments—white marble and calm stone —" believed to be portions of the magnificent monument of King Robert the Bruce at Dunfermlino destroyed by tho Lords of tho Congregation."
It- is proposed to preservo tho relics in an oak glass-fronted cabinet, which will bo placed alongsido tho Abboy pulpit erected immediately above tho vault of The Bruce,
