SURGICAL TALK FILM.
The first talking 51m of the details of * surgical operation was shown to_ an audience of "doctors at a meeting of the Boyai Society of Medicine, London, recently. Ii was produced as an experiment to //Bee whether it is possible to teach medical students the technique of operative surgery by this method. It was a •eries of- " close-ups." but they shewed gloved hands, and not the lace, ci the talker, who was Sir John ThomasWalker, an honorary surgeon on the staff cf King's College HaspitaL The hands went through all the motions cf cutting, stitching, and knotting that are the hasis of surgery, while the Toice explained each stage of the operation. Sir Thomson-Waiter said after the film "Was shown:—" We are on the threshold of great changes. By this method we cojud show a large class cf students half * dozen operations in an afternoon. I feel Bore that teaching in hospitals and universities. will be much supplemented by Uai method.*'
