TABLE DECORATIONS.
Ilavo you ever thought out a black and whito schemo of table decoration? Unusual for a table, perhaps, but remarkably effective. Whito flowers, of any variety, liberally interspersed with asparagus fern, should bo arranged in blaclc vases or bowls. Silver candlesticks carry tall candles, and arc topped with whito shades, On which aro jolly littles silhouetted figures in black. Black china, which is not unusual nowadays, completes the schemo. Tho tablo may look a little cold 'ill your guests arrivo, but tho moment bright dresses are added to the general effect the change is magical. Tablo-mats of bevelled plate-glass aro a rovelty which makes for a charming new decorative schemo. They are laid flat upon tho polished table-top, and ono corner of each mat is decorated by an enormous tassol of coloured silk, which hangs from tho 'able. Menu-holders, candlesticks and candle-shades should, of course, tone with the tassels, and if you do not quite like the. idea of tho entire absence of linen, hqu.'tro mats in tho samo colour could bo used benoath tho glass mats
