FRICTION ON COMMITTEE.
AN UNWANTED MEMBER.
NO POWER OF DISMISSAL.

A letter from a country school committee was received at a mooting of the Canterbury Education Board to-day, stating that it had carried a motion that a cor tain man should be dismissed from the committee, "as wo could not see that we could carry on with him."
"Would it be necessary," the committee asked, "to elect anothor member in his place ?" When the letter was read a member of tho board said, "Get a gun!" The board decided to inform tho school committoo that a member was entitled to sit on a committee until he resigned, and that tho board had no power, to interfere.
