MINISTER REASSURES PARENTS.

A good deal of controversy has arisen at Hamilton with respect to the Hamilton West school site, owing to the prospect of the site being required for playgrounds for . the Hamilton Technical School. Tho Auckland Education Board, recently gave authority for negotiations to be entered into with the Hamilton Domain Board for tho purchase of an area on the Palmerston Estate as the future sito of the Hamilton West school. An adverse medical report; has been received by the Education Board regarding the Palmerston Estate site, and the negotiations for its purchase have been discontinued.

The Hamilton West Parents' Association has been active in its advocacy for the retention of the present site, and has received an assurance from the Minister of Educatjon that there, is no, intention to •remove the school until the quostioh of replacement of the building arises.
