RAILWAY WORKER'S FATE.
COMPANIONS' LONG JOURNEY.

NEW PLYMOUTH, Wednesday
A middle-aged man, Mr. William O'Connor, was fatally injured by a fall of papa rock at the east end of No. 3 tunnel on the Taranaki-Main Trunk railway construction works near ,Tangarakau last evening. His mates carried him a long distance over tho hills to Mangaone. He was conscious all the way, but he expired on arrival. . • . Mr. O'Connor. had been working on railway works for years, and had 110 relatives in the Dominion.
