HOWICK ODDFELLOWS.
A VISITORS' EVENING.
The Loyal Howick Lodge, Manchester Unity Oddfellows, held a very successful open night in (he Oddfellows' Hall, Howiek, on Monday evening on the occasion of the official visit of (lie district grand master, Mr. F. Best, accompanied by Mr. Pitcher, deputy-district grand master, and Mr. Grey. Auckland and suburban sister lodges were well represented. Short speeches wore given by Mr. L. 11. White, sen., of the. Loyal Howick Lodge, Mr. F. Best, Mr. Pitcher, Mr. Grcv, l\cv. I). Mclntyro, Canon 11. Mason and Mr. J. Crawford, chairman of the Town Board. Mr. Best presented Mr. L. 11. White, sen., with a gold modal from the Auckland district lodges and complimented him on his 50 years in office. Tho noble grand master' oi the Loyal Ilov.'ick Lodgo then welcomed the visitors, who replied. During tho evening dancing was enjoyed to music provided by an orchestra of local players.
