So far Austria has had no outlet for its surplus population, but the Peruvian Government is now willing to grant tho syndicate an area of land in the region of Bra Orapa to settle 3000 Austrian families (12,000 persons), each family receiving from the syndicato a holding frco of charge. Tho settlers will receivo a frco passago to Peru, but will have to rofund tho faro later on. The land cultivated by them will bocomo their property, but after several years they will have to refund to the syndicate the cost of all the buildings on their ground. Tho land will, of course, have to bo broken in, but in tho opinion of exports it will yield cotton, coffee, cocoa and bananas. Part of tho territory contains gold and oil. It is said that by settling tho land with Austrians tho Peruvian Government intends to counteract North American influence.

At tho beginning of December experts of tho syndicate, geologists and engineers, on tho invitation of tho Peruvian Government, will go to Peru for four months in order to study tho conditions.
