EMPLOYMENT FOR BOYS.
POSITION AT DUNEDIN.
AN IMPROVEMENT INDICATED
[BY TELEGRAPH.—OWN CORRESPONDENT. ] DTTNEDIN, Wednesday.
From a short discussion which took place at a meeting of the Board of Governors of the High School to-day it would appear that tho conditions in Dunedin are improving in the matter of employment for young people. The rector reported that 87 boys had left the school since March and in the same period there had been only 10 new entries. Mr. J. C. Stephens said there had also been a steady decline in the attendance at the girls' school for the past four or five years. It looked as if they would not require to press the Government for an addition to the boys' school. Probaoly economic factors would continue to improve and more boys would be leaving school to enter employment. Mr. J, J. Mallard said it was $ healthy sign to see boys obtaining employment.
