Tho visitors openod promisingly, and within five minutes had scored a converted try. Eastwood being sent over by the Wellington fullback, Lamason, who converted. In the presence of a large gathering and in beautiful weather, tho Canterbury B team defeated the Buller representatives this afternoon by 22 poiiits to 9. The game was always interesting, the Buller forwards more than holding tlieir own with the visiting pack, and checking Canterbury passing movements. Although the sun and wind were both with it in the first spell, Canterbury led at half-time by only 6 points to 3, a try by Serra and a penalty goal by Oliver for Canterbury, and a penalty by Graham for Buller. When the teams turned over Buller pressed persistently, but Canterbury caino away with a rush for Oliver to ecore an unconverted try. Goodall nnd Quinn addod tries for Buller. levelling tho scores, but in the closing stages Canterbury rattled on three tries in quick succession by Brown.
