LEAGUE FOOTBALL REFEREE.
Rofcrenec to tho doatli of Mr. L. Neild in a motor accident at Ot.orohanga was mado at the meeting of the Auckland Rugby Leaguo last evening. A resolution of sympathy with tho Relatives was passed. Until a few years ago Mr. Neild was a prominent League football reloreo in Auckland and tho Waikato. 110 was 0110 of tho founders of tho South Auckland League. Ho controlled test matches between England and I\ew Zealand in 1920 and 1924, and, when officiating in the Waikato, was appointed to control man) chili games in Auckland between 1915 and 1919.
Mr. Neild was also prominent in cricket and for somo timo played with tho North Shoro Club.
