ROTORUA-TAUPO RAILWAY.
Sir,—Mr. Vaile, with a persistency worthy of a better cause than tho laupo railway, continues to try to fasten on to mo an "admission" that t.io railway was "right in practice." He shelters bohind a general inference from my first letter. Hero is what I wrote (relevant to the point): "Tho work lias been advocated by many men in high positions, but so far as I have seen they are all 'practical' men,. not 'theoretical.' They aro experts in soil properties, practical farming, in transport costs, in surveying and what not. but there is no evidence that they know anything at all 'economics of ihe land question, challenge Mr. Vaile to prove his cas3 from this. If bo cannot do so, he should withdraw tho objectionable words. C.H.N.
