TAKAPUNA WEST AREA.
NEW NAME PROPOSED. At a meeting of tho Taknpuna Western Area Ratepayers' and Residents' Association tho president, Mrs. J. C. Blomfield, reported that tho association was progressing very favourably, tho membership having in thrco months reached over 50.
It was decided to appoint a beautifying committee to lay out somo of tho reserve ground on the main road and other parts and to plant trees in front of Taharoto Park. It was also decided to prevent tho destruction of trees in tho area.
.Mrs. Blomfield said tho district required a suitable name. It was decided to submit tho name of "Parklands " for approval to the Takapuna Borough Council.
Tho council advised that tho matter of t-xt-a lighting in tho area had been attended to.
