FACETIOUS NURSES.
INCIDENT AT HOSPITAL". The action of .several nurses at the Auckland Hospital arising out of complaints made regarding tho placing of jam on tho tables at tho nurses' home was referred to in tho report of a special meeting of tho board held at the hospital on July 27, and presented to members yesterday. "Before proceeding with tho business the chairman made a statement regarding insubordination on tho part of several nurses," the report stated. "The matter arose out of resentment by tho nurses at having jam placed on their table in a manner not customary in tho dining room, the fault being primary dilatorincss on the part of a housemaid. Tho nurses, however, wrote some rhyming drivel on a piece of paper, and placed this in tho corridor outside the matron's quarters with tho till of jam on top of it. "After a general discussion thrco nurses, who voluntarily confessed their guilt, were called into the room and reprimanded by the chairman. .The three gills, at their own request, were allowed to apologise again to Miss Nutsey in tho presence of the members of the board."- s
