BRITISH WAGES DISPUTE.
MEN OPPOSE A REDUCTION. Australian and N.Z. Press Association. (Received August 19, 9.15 p.m.) LONDON, Aug. 19. The executive committee of the wool and textile trades unions has rejected an offer made by its own representatives on the Industrial Council to accept a 7J per cent, reduction in wages. The committee had authorised its delegates to incct the employers (who were demanding a 10 per cent, reduction) and to offer to refer the matter to arbitration.
