DISORDERLY BEHAVIOUR.
.THREE YOUNG FINED
"The three young tneh were going from house to house) fighting and indulging in disorderly ,behaviour,' said Constable Mahoney when. John Healhcote Caldwell, aged 22, William Vincent Smith, aged 19, and Frederick Harman Boulter, aged 26, all labourers, were charged in the Police Court yesterday with boing disorderly while drunk in Grey Lynn. Boulter ancl,. Smith admitted the offences, while Caldwell did not appear. Constable Mahoney said ho had been called to the Westmere Estato anout 1 a.m. on Sunday, and he found that tho accused had been going from house to house, fighting and creating a nuisance. .They had both beer and whisky with them. "In fairness to Caldwell I must say ho did his best to get the others away," added the constable. "Ho was not as bad as the others."'
The magistrate, Mr. F. K. Hunt, imposed a tine 6f 5s on Caldwell, the other two accused being each fined £2, together with witness' expenses 10s. Stated by the polico to have been drunk when the offence took place, Arthur Aitchison, aged 31, a seaman on the steamer Raranga, pleaded guilty to assaulting one of the officers on the vessel, John Robertson Lautenson, on Sunday. ' A fine of £2, in default seven days' imprisonment, was imposed. Trevor Smith, 6ged 17, a labotaer, and Raymond Hausman, aged 20, a painter, wcro charged with fighting in Queen Street. Each' was fined £l. , A <4hargo of being disorderly while drunk in Lower Queen Street on Saturday was preferred against Charles Murphy, aged 31, described ;\s n trimmer, who l 'admitted the offence. The sub-in-spector staled that accused had been abusive'in the street, and had been seeking a.fight. A penalty'of £1 was imposed.
