RESIDENTS OF {3ISBORNE.
TWO CASES DISMISSED*
[BST TELEGRAPH.—rRES3 ASSOCIATION-J GISBORNE, Monday.
The Gisborne Police Court was crowded to its capacity this morning when four well-known residents appeared en charges of breaches of tho Gaming Act. Arthur Owen 'was charged with using his premises in Hallenstein's Buildings as a common gaming house. Rutene Takina, Cornelius Patterson and Samuel Bardwell were charged with frequenting the street for purposes of betting. Owen, who pleaded guilty, was fined £IOO and costs, and Takina was fined £25.
The informations against Bardwell and Patterson were dismissed.
