TWO MEN HEAVILY FINED.
"VULTURE LIVING ON LAMBS."

"This man is one of tho vultures who aro living on the lambs of Timaru," said Inspector Bird, concerning Ivan Vuleta, who, in tho Polico Court yesterday, was fined £IOO and costs, in default threo months' imprisonment, for having kept a common gaming house.
William Alexander O'Connor, barman, for a similar offence, was fined £IOO and costs, in default threo months' imprisonment.
Both accused pleaded not guilty to a charge of bookmaking, and guilty to ono of keeping a common gaming house. Tho inspector withdrew tho bookmaking charges.
