THE AUCKLAND EXCHANGE.

BUSINESS AGAIN „ ACTIVE.

Business on the Auckland Stock Exchange was again activo yesterday. Hie firm demand for gilt-edgo securities was unchanged, but War Loans, 1930, 4j per cent., woro done 5s easier at £99 ss. Now Zealand Breweries debentures changed haiuta at tho current price, 28s 6d, and at 28s sd.

In banks Commercials of Australia, preferential, changed hands at tho current price, £7 6s 6d. Now Zcalands continued their appreciation, selling 9d dearer at 635. Unions of Australia added two moro to their string of sales at £ls Is and also sold at £ls 2s 6d (Melbourno regis ter). Moro wero wanted at £ls Is, sellers advancing 6d to £ls 2s. In insurance New Zcalands remained very firm, sell ing again at 47s Bd. In the loan and agency seition New Zealand Guarantees were unchanged with another salo at 9s 4jd. Tho B preference issue of North Auckland Farmers was again dono at 12s 6d. Goldsiu ough-Morts had salo 9d dearer at 48s.

Tho coal section was active without any notable changes except that Wainas rocovered 6d with a sale at 14s and closed firmer than on Monday. In gas the ordinary issue of Aucklands sold at 24s Id, the current price, while tho contributing issuo sold 3d dearer than the last salo a week ago, changing hands at 17s lid. >

In tho miscellaneous section interest in Farmers' Tradings was sustained, and ordinaries further improved 4d with a salo at 9s 4d. Offers tor Electrolytic Zincs wero firmer. In mining Ohinemuris woro again dono at 10s 3d and Mount Lyells at 43s 3d.
