ROUGH SEAS ON COAST.
MANUKAU BAR UNWORKABLE.
MAKURA ARRIVES LATE
The south-west gale -which was blowing 011 the west coast on Saturday and Sunday continued until yesterday afternoon when (lie wind changed to the south and died away to a light breeze. The storm caused a rough sea on the Manukau Bar which was unworkable yesterday and the Ngapuhi's departure from Onehunga for New Plymouth had to be postponed until noon to-day. Tho rough sea has delayed the Hauturu at Hokianga, whore she has been bar-bound since Saturday. The stormy conditions which have prevailed on tho New Zealand coast have affected shipping as far as Fiji. The lloyal Mail liner Makura oxperifcnced a strong southerly wind and a high southwest swell as soon as she cleared Suva last Friday afternoon. Tho boisterous conditions prevailed until she was Hearing Auckland yesterday afternoon and delayed her arrival by over five hours.
